Deep section of Sac Aktun underground river system. The Pit is an amazing sinkhole inside the deep jungle, an upstream branch of the system Dos Ojos. The Pit is 370 ft /110 m, recreational divers stop at 40 meters / 130 feet. It is the deepest cenote in the Quintana Roo state in Mexico. A truly unique place with spectacular blue water and sections with stalactites.

I went scuba diving here on 6/16/2016. Average viz: 51-60ft/16-18m. Water temp: 71-75°F/22-24°C.

This is typically our first dive (deep). You will love this one, a great view with the sun rays that slip through the entrance hole. We dive recreational to 40 meters / 130 feet max. with no decompression required, more than enough to reach the caves full of stalactites.
If technical diving is desired we can dive to the "Wakoula room" that can be reached through an intricate cave passage called "Cartica passage" at 60 meters / 196 feet and continue to 110 meters / 360 feet, a technical diving that require great preparation and full cave certification.
