Civil War era bridge burned leaving a number piers across the river. Best visibility in the spring or fall. The river is influenced by recent weather events. Current is controlled by a dam up river. A pretty easy dive. Good spots for eats and drinks in HDG.Three known boat ramps in the area.

I went scuba diving here on 4/2/2012. Average viz: 26-30ft/8-9m. Water temp: 61-65°F/16-18°C.
A lot of man-made debris you’d expect to find around a railroad bridge, but a lot of fish too!

Cool dive checking out the engineering of the 1800’s building the foundation for these piers.
