Well yesterday Magdelena, Ningelbrecht and I all went to Rottnest Island for a day`s diving. The skipper took us around to the West End - A site not dived very often because of its distance and depth. "No worries" he said about the current and the wind "She`ll be right" Says he. A quick stride into the water and we were whisked off struggling to hold onto the Mermaid line... OK to go and Nick and I sank down to the bottom and waited for Maggie who was using hire gear and had to go back to the boat for extra weights. The current was so strong of the 26 divers that entered the water 22 had to be rescued by the inflatable! Try as you might you just couldn`t get back. Fortunately the second dive was so much better with no current and massive caves and swim throughs and we all managed to stay together. Off to Vanuatu on Friday so looking forward to some R&R in crystal clear waters on the Coolidge! Nigel
