Here`s my report on the divebuddy.com Cozumel trip. I call it the "divebuddy.com cozumel trip" because I met half of my dive buddies in this site (see Greg? It`s working!). The group were awesome, the diving even better. Cozumel, I come to find out, has the second larges reef in the world, second only to the Great Barrier Reef (Australia). We stayed at the Hotel Cozumel and dove with Dive Paradise. The entire set up was pretty awesome and highly recommended. The staff for both the hotel and the dive op was extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We dove all over the Palancar reefs, split into 5 sections doing deep and shallow dives. We saw giant turtles, huge moray eels (they love hot dog btw) and groupers, a school of sharks (12 of them at about 150`), huge crabs and lobsters, a seahorse, lots of fish and stuff... Memorable dive sites were (all in Palancar reef) Columbia, Horseshoe, Santa Rosa, Gardens and Caves. There were lots of marine life, walls and swim throughs to enjoy. Although every crew boat member was very nice, favorite dive masters were Emilio, Santos, Gato and Victor. They will make you feel right at home and show you the best to be seen! We also did a shore night dive off the hotel and saw an octopus and a couple of squids! Our next trip is to Bonaire on the second week of February. Wish you could come out and play. :) P.S. - photos will be posted soon. Happy diving!
