If you`re looking for interesting underwater sights, Lake Chelan is not the place to go. The second deepest lake in the USA, Chelan is 51 miles long and 1800 feet at its deepest point so we just dive around the edges. The water is usually pretty clear but there is rarely much to see except rocks, sucker fish, burbot, and the ubiquitous supply of golf balls people love to hit into the lake. April 10, 2007 - Underwater SAR training held at Fields Point Landing on the south shore of Lake Chelan, Washington. Dove to 65 ft for equipment familiarization. S.O. Dive buddies MB & KV had new suits and BC`s to try out (somewhat unsuccessfully as it turned out). It was 44 degrees with 25` vis. Fields Point Landing is a pickup location for Lady of the Lake ferry passengers. This early in the season no one has dropped anything off the docks to collect. One freshwater snail and my dive buddies were the only signs of life during the dive.
