Three Sisters Spring is a boat accessible fresh water dive site, located in Crystal River, FL. This dive site has an average rating of 3.85 out of 5 from 27 scuba divers. The maximum depth is 16-20ft/5-6m. The average visibility is 31-35ft/9-11m.

Three Sisters is a complex of three spring areas with several large and small vents and sand boils. The springs share a run along a mainly N/S line, with the common run exiting to the main canal between the two lower springs. During winter months manatee can be found in this area.

The best way to access Three Sisters Spring is to rent a boat anywhere along Kings Bay. Go slow the entire way to avoid hitting the manatees that congregate in the area. You can’t take your boat all the way to Three Sisters Spring, so it’s best to anchor near the mouth. After you anchor the boat, snorkel around the mouth of the springs and up into the springs to see the manatees. There are volunteers that watch the area really closely so avoid making loud noises, don’t jump into the water, don’t harass the manatees in any way, or you’ll get a ticket!

Kpgary - 7/13/2014 2:50 PM I went scuba diving here on 7/13/2014. Average viz: 31-35ft/9-11m. Water temp: 71-75°F/22-24°C. Nice relaxing very shallow,main spring is only 15 foot deep. Very crowded but was expected for a Sunday. Looking around the shoreline you will see fish and crab. Beautiful photo op.

nkydiver - 9/05/2012 3:57 PM Rating Added: 5 In the winter months this is only open to snorkelers, but really that is all you need. The springs are relatively shallow and the manatees are plentiful. Just don’t harass the manatees. Leave them alone and let them come to you. We’ve rented pontoon boats in the past but Adventure Diving also runs a nice trip out there and we use them now when we head down. meltonart - 9/05/2012 4:08 PM i must add it can get pretty crowded on weekends because the channel is so narrow there only, I recommend going on a week day mid week for smaller crowds and easier navigation of the channel.

Musky_hunter - 1/13/2012 11:34 AM Stopped in town for about 24 hours, last Feb., on my way back home from Orlando. I stayed at the Best Western and the gentleman working at the dive shop on site was quite helpful, they weren’t taking any boats out the next day but he recommended a place about 3-5 miles down the hwy that rented Kyaks. The next morning I found the place, and the woman working there was very helpful too. It’s about a 10 minute paddle throgh some canals and there you are. My only regrets are that I hadn’t done it sooner, and that I didn’t get any actual diving done down there last year.
