The pier use to be a great fishing spot until it was devastated by hurricane Ivan in 2004. Now it is a great beach dive.

Per Gidds; this " site no longer exists because they fixed the fishing pier and you aren’t allowed to dive around fishing piers. They made the reefs partially to ameliorate the aforementioned situation."

oceanbound - 1/10/2012 10:57 PM Rating Added: 2 Sorry, i’m sure some like this site but I don’t. I did my check out dives here and the beach walk was a killer. Tried a year later to do this again and even though it was not as hot it is still a long, long walk from parking lot in full gear to the water. Surf was always such that i got knocked down. finally decided it just wasn’t worth it. I’m sure others who are more hard core or like a challenge would like this. I know a lot of divers do. I just don’t. I will have to say out of over 300 dives, it is my least favorite site that I would prefer to sit out.
