The Chauncey Jerome Jr was a packet ship of the Blue Ball Line. 1154 tons,178’ x 37’ The wreck lies within the Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park in Long Branch NJ. It is a registered and protected historic place. Spearfishing and artifact removal are forbidden.
There is a fee, about $8 between 8am and 4pm in season, free to military and vets with ID and in season there are showers available in the park. That fee will allow you to park at the skate park cutting down your walk.
Enter 50-75’ north of the south jetty, these are the two most northern jetties in the park. Go straight out from the house at Atlantic Ave with 2 windows upstairs to the 20’ line, then north a few minutes till you hit the wreck. The bow faces shore so there is little chance of missing it unless a storm has moved sand over it.
Viz here can be anything from 1’ to 20’
