Minnewaska is a great place to dive. It has easy shore access and usually no one else is there to dive, so you don’t have to worry about sharing the location. It gets cold and dark like any lake but viz is usually 15-20 feet depending on depth. There is a good amount of life to see in the lake, but it’s main allure is the amazing landscape left from passing glaciers. In some spots the boulders/ walls go straight down to the bottom of the lake, in other spots there are gradual slopes that lead to the bottom. If you are diving along the wall make sure you bring good lights because some of those overhangs make it feel like your entering a cave. It can get pitch black really fast if you attempt to explore some of the larger crevices. Overall a great place to dive. Only thing that’s unfortunate is you can’t get airfills or food there.
