Power Dam in Schubert’s Gap is a shore accessible fresh water dive site, located at Along the Appalachian Trail, Bethel, PA 17543. This dive site has an average rating of 4.00 out of 5 from 1 scuba divers. The maximum depth is 11-15ft/3-5m. The average visibility is 5-10ft/2-3m.
It’s a small, cold pond, that use to be a hydro-electric dam in the very early 1900’s (built around 1906-1907). This is a beautiful area, if you can get equipment into it. The closest public road is 3.4 miles or so away along the Appalachian Trail (RT. 183 is the road). You can read the story of how we did this if you wish. I believe we may have been the first to put tanks in this location. :-)
