Rainbow Falls (Alt Dive) is a shore accessible fresh water dive site, located at Old Big Oak Flat Road, Groveland, CA 95321. This dive site has an average rating of 2.00 out of 5 from 1 scuba divers. The maximum depth is 26-30ft/8-9m. The average visibility is 101-110ft/31-34m.

At ~3000 feet, this popular swimming hole has a refreshing 15 foot waterfall and cliff diving off the surround rock cliffs, into the 27 foot deep pool. Can’t say I’d do this dive more than once, but it sure paid off the morning we dove it. Trout and crawdads are abundant. Watch surfacing under the continuous jumpers! As long as you’re at the bottom the jumpers will never get near you, so don’t surface where they jump.

I went scuba diving here on 9/8/2017. Average viz: 71-80ft/22-24m. Water temp: 66-70°F/19-21°C.
Salvage dive with detectors.

I went scuba diving here on 7/16/2016. Average viz: 101-110ft/31-34m. Water temp: 66-70°F/19-21°C.
This was a salvage dive and an enjoyable morning, watching the cliff jumpers. Nothing more. Trout, blue gills and crawfish everywhere. The water was surprisingly warm as we expected snow runoff, and it was crystal clear.
