Hi- My name is Mike Hainey; I work overseas and stay in the central Tennessee area when I’m in the states, it’s where both my daughters and grandkids are located. I’m in the process of organizing a dive trip to Bonaire with a bump plan to go to Cozumel (based on total pricing) in early to mid-May 2020. Including my girlfriend (who doesn’t dive & will only be snorkeling there), we have four of us so far.

I’ve sent feelers out to different dive centers and travel agencies to try to get the most competitive dive package prices available, and am still waiting for replies from most of them. There may be boat dives in the package- but I’ve been told by several friends that just doing shore dives down there is pretty cool ….. and a lot of dive centers I’ve looked at focus mostly on unlimited shore diving.

There is most certainly more information pending, as organizing these things is normally like herding cats. Ok. So didn’t find A dive Buddy For Florida, cold weather might have scared everyone away.. . But went diving in Vortex Springs, Florida. Very interesting place to dive? The fish thought I was gonna feed them? Really? . LOL. Water temperature was about 65. It’s A cave system so you have to be careful. Cabins are all over the place. They have air on site! Very nice :)!

Used to dive Vortex a lot. Its a good place to get wet. Hot dogs and diving don’t work. They need more lunch options at the food counter. 😀

Thanks Fezz. The wife and I are going on the Allure of the Seas the end of this month. We’re diving in Cozumel and Nassau. We’ve logged 22 dives in Cozumel and 6 in Nassau. 4 of the dives in Nassau are shark dives. We tried to find 2 more advanced divers for Cozumel through Cruise Critic roll call but seems they just want to get lit not wet. Looking forward to Kauai in December!

Are you on a cruise? I’m on the Carnival Dream, I think I’m about 2 days behind you, dove Cozumel yesterday and Grand Cayman the day before that

Thank you Gary for request as Diving Buddy. Granted, with due humility.
Been diving since 1968, and just re-certified as Advanced Open Water diver in Madeira, Portugal.
Deep water on Nitrox, DPV and Deep Water reef, great fun and water temp of 19C. Coming from the UK it was like a warm bath. Haha
