Lets Go Diving.
I am a seasoned diver from the Monterey Bay Area transplanted to San Diego. I was originally certified with NAUI in 2002 at UC Santa Cruz (alma mater). I took every SCUBA class offered Basic, Advanced, Rescue, Specialty, Master, and Divemaster. I was also the president of the UC Santa Cruz Recreational Scuba club. I got my degree in Marine Ecology and Evolution.
I recieved training as a scientific scuba diver and did scuba research for the Nature Conservancy allong the big sur coast. I also volunteered for PISCO (partnership for interdisiplinary studies of coastal oceans) as a subtidal researcher up and down the California Coast.
Needless to say I am very comfortable in, under, and above the water and have good knowlege of fish and marine invertebrate identification. I am comfortable shore diving, as well as the use of small boats.
I am looking for a casual dive buddy to explore what San Diego and surrounding area has to offer. Safety is ALWAYS first, and I would like you to be comfortable with your gear and diving in the area. Fun and easy going and into the natural beauty of the kelp forest and definately pluses!
If you are interested in a dive buddy for spearfishing I am NOT interested (See conservation work above :) )
