Just returned to the U.S. last July after living on Okinawa, Japan for seven years, and am living in Port St. Lucie. Life has been hectic the past year, and I am just starting to get back in the water since returning to the U.S. This month, I have dove off of Stuart and off of Key West. I own all of my gear, including tanks. I stopped logging my dives after 3000. Most of my diving has been Okinawa, but I also have dives in Keramas, Palau, Bali, Key West, and Devil’s Den Springs. I dove Jupiter, West Palm, and Deerfield back before moving to Okinawa in 2005, but it was only a couple dives each place. Now that life is settling in and down, I want to dive more.. TONS more. I’m looking for other female divers, but would consider male buddies if the fit is right.

My type of diving..
1. I’m a safe diver; if we go out on a dive and you are not safe, it will be our last dive together. I’m also adventurous.
2. I dive air, not Nitrox.. why you ask? Because although I am certified, I have never in all my diving experience needed it. Maybe it WOULD allow me a few more minutes on that deep dive, but I’d rather just have a bit shorter dive. Maybe on a three tank boat trip it would keep me "energized", but I usually have enough energy for an extra person anyways. Do I care if you dive Nitrox? Nope.
3. While I don’t care if people spearfish on scuba, I don’t want to go on the spearfishing dives.
4. I have a Nikon D7000 with an Aquatica housing and Ikelite strobes. I love to take photos, but am nowhere near good. I can dive with or without my camera. If you don’t have the patience to wait on me to take shots... just let me know and I’ll leave the beast at home.
5. I’m a teacher.. which means I’m nowhere near rich. :) I can afford a couple of boat dives a month, but would really like to find people who know the shore diving locations so I can dive more than the times I can afford to boat dive.
6. I usually have a built in dive buddy or two. My husband is a Marine and stationed in Albany right now, so it is usually just my daughter and I. She is 22.

3. Happy.. I’m always smiling and laughing.
4. Independent.. I’m a Marine wife.. I’m used to getting it done on my own.

Not to sound like a complete jerk, but I only add true close friends and family though. As a military spouse, I use my FB to keep up with everyone scattered all over the world. I used to add just anyone, but it was too much hassle to weed through all the extra people just to read about the ones I actually cared about. :)
