I am a Navy Diver currently station in Guam. I have been diving for over 12 years, 5 of them for the military. I do most of my diving for work, but would like to start diving more in my free time. Prior to the service I did the majority of my diving around the CA channel islands and along the coast. I have also been diving many places in FL, and a few spots around the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. Since then I have been able to dive all over Guam as well as Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean.


I do not live in CA right now, but for those looking for a dive vacation, Guam is a great place to start. If anyone is interested in heading out this way, please let me know and I can point you in the right direction.

Alphaflag05 - 9/22/2008 8:22 AM PSD stands for ’Public Safety Diver’... The conference is for Search and Rescue teams, with medics, fire and law officers who are on dive teams- wanting to know of DCS stuff. I wanted to add to the presentation some ’real life’ scenarios which make you ’scratch your head’ on. With yours and ours- its mostly sur ’d’ work- not really applying to them- simple response on scuba- dcs mainly over blowing your ascent...

I was given the great task of doin’ a lecture in Portland which I know nothing about (PSD Teams). Different from the commercial side... Anyway- do you have any incidents / scenarios of DCS which would be good to share and discuss? No -Not the ones you’d have to ’kill me if you told me’... Otherwise- be safe -Mike

Alphaflag05 - 8/31/2008 5:20 PM ...now would you still do a chamber sur’d’O2 - or are you just saying that with in water ’d’ your using 100% to cut your stop time down...? On our dive vessel we have the rack set up to allow O2 at any time- its just piped right into to the lp (normally) and the hp also. If its for a simple ’mobile rack box’, that is nice.
