I will describe what kind of dive buddy I am.. I love to dive I take every opportunity to dive that I can. I am a dive buddy that will look out for you and I expect you to look out for me. I hate to be cold and tend to wear thicker suits than most people. I believe in BWARF. I actually very thorough pre-dive checks no matter if its going in the pool, ocean or lake. I dive with redundant computers and spare air. I never lead or follow anyone beyond any comfort level. If we must end our dive early for any reason I am okay with that and will not be critical of anyone for that reason. I practice skills in the water every dive. If I am not performing a skill well I am open to suggestion and want to know. If my buddy could do something better I want them be open to suggestion. I usually carry a pencil and writing tablet. I read up on diving everyday and try to learn one new thing related to diving daily.

"The Navy Diver is not a fighting man, he is a salvage expert. If it is lost underwater, he finds it. If it’s sunk, he brings it up. If it’s in the way, he moves it. If he’s lucky, he will die young, 200 feet beneath the waves, for that is the closest he’ll ever get to being a hero. "

"A Chief Petty Officer shall not drink. However, if he should drink he shall not get drunk. If he should get drunk, he shall not stagger. And if he should stagger, he shall not fall. And if he should fall, he will fall in such a manner as to cover up his rank so that passerbyers will think he is an officer. "

The two best quotes I was sober enough to remember...

My pirate name is:
Captain Tom Vane
Even though there’s no legal rank on a pirate ship, everyone recognizes you’re the one in charge. You tend to blend into the background occaisionally, but that’s okay, because it’s much easier to sneak up on people and disembowel them that way. Arr!

No, they will not be available for purchase by everyone (so I won’t be adding them to the DB Store)...only LifeTime members will be offered these shirts and I won’t be doing this long, only a couple weeks.

Hey thanks! I agree with you on the multi-tasking, handle the light, Okay the line, control boyancy, double check the tie-offs and thats just when you’re the second diver. Become the primary now you’ve got the line to contend with as well. I love a challenge! I want to do cave diver, I want to get in to the more technical aspects but I still have alot of dives and specialties to take before I can do that!
