I took up scuba diving later in life, a sport I wanted to do for many years. However raising kids, the death of my Father in a drowning accident all added to "putting it off". However once I took the plunge, I have never looked back and enjoy a sport that really creates a natural "high" for me. I currently have my Open Water Padi certification, but hope to complete my Advanced this winter or next spring. This will open up more areas to dive here in Canada, as some of the popular areas, such as Kingston and Brockville are drift diving.

Greg::::I am so sorry to hear of your Mother’s passing. I got to know her from Facebook, and I loved her sense of humour. We would exchange funny sayings and comments. I was just thinking about her the other day, and wondered how she was doing, as I hadn’t seen her on Facebook for awhile. I was aware of her cancer battle, and I know she would have fought hard. RIP Eve, I know there is a manta ray up there right by your side.

All the best Greg!

I am furious at this story but also elated that Scott’s g/f survived!!! These two instructors should be "outed" and never teach scuba diving anywhere! SSI should be looking into this and not ignoring Scott’s emails or calls. My best wishes to Scott’s g/f, and to Scott!

Good read for all divers and those wishing to take scuba lessons!
