Update.
I have been diving now for three years, and I have been on this site for two of those years. I joined this site to have a forum as a new diver to learn from the many divers that are out there in the world. This site has proven and continues to prove to be a great resource in diving for gaining knowledge, and understanding, getting advice on everything from dive sites and trips, to gear and instructors.
Over the course of my three years of diving I have progress from obtaining my Open Water cert in Mexico to completing my Divemaster Cert and my most recent certification of cavern diver while on a trip to Florida. I hope to complete my cave diver certification while on a trip to Florida this coming winter.
Through Divebuddy.com I have gotten great advice on diving and been able to meet up with buddies on my various trips into the US diving which has been great. Being able to meet other divers, and be shown some of the spots to dive in their local areas has realy expanded my expereiences and exposure.
In return I try and add my expereiences and advice that I might have, some good, some probably not so good, but that is all part of the learning process I suppose.
As for my dive experience the majority is done here in my local area of Kingston Ontario CA. The diving here is fantastic, although deep, cold, and dark in most cases, (Lake Ontario) there are plenty of wrecks to explore. I am also fortunate that there are numerous great shore dives that can be done here, which gives me the ability to jump in pretty much any time I want. There is also great diving in the St Lawrence River, which includes some great drift diving.
I have been fortunate to be able to get to warm destinations a couple of times a year including Bahamas and Cozumel, and I also make a trip to Florida every year, which I love for having great diving in both fresh water springs and in the ocean.
Overall I have to say I think this site is a great resource, and as part of the involvment I have with students that are learning I always recommend this site as a great resource for information and advice from divers of all expereiences, and backgrounds.
Cudos to Greg for a great site, I will continue to make it a part of my diving.
