My name is Shane. I moved to Boise from Arizona in the Winter of 2019. I used to travel a lot with work and would try to dive whenever I could. I would love to find some people local to Boise to plan a trip with.

I saw this link in Dive Training magazine.

dtmag.com/dive-usa/divingusa.html

It has information on a bunch of dive sites throughout the USA. Some of the information isn’t the greatest but I would be curious if anyone has been to any of the sights and if they are on Scuba Earth as well.

I will say head out to Lake Pleasant. Vista Point is the point that I have been to the most. Don’t have to have a boat and there are many divers out there all the time. Want to make sure you have enough water so you don’t get to dehydrated since that point can be a bit of a walk to the water. Beyond that there is some great stuff to find! The dive table, barricade, grandfather clock, railroad track, Buddha doll, ect. Also the range in depth is nice from just 20 - 50 ft a little off shore to around 100 - 150 ft.

Shane, the Diver Down dive boat will be going out at Lake Pleasant on Oct 11, too. It’s a very large pontoon boat built for lake diving with an easy back platform to giant stride off of. Always lots of new dive buddies to meet on there. Call El Mar dive center in Mesa if you want to book a spot. Shore diving at the lake is good, too, but the boat is shady and large and comfy! Their number is 480-833-2971. I know several folks going that day, all good divers! I will be missing it cause my Mom’s in town. :(

Hi Shane, welcome. Reach out when you want to go diving. I’m usually free, unless the "honeydo" list gets in the way. I live up near Lake Pleasant to a short notice can work. Jeff

Hi Shane, The local place to dive here is at Lake Pleasent. There are several different bays and points where we dive so each has it’s own features. Saturday mornings and Thursday am and pm are hot times to go as the dive shops are usually out ( esp, at Vista Point on the West side) and even if you dont have a buddy there is someone to buddy up with. Give me a holler if you want to go out sometime. I am usually available most anytime, esp.for afternoon and night diving. Bob
