I fell in love with scuba in 2017. Have completed about 50 dives and AOW, mostly lake diving. Looking for dive buddy to dive local and maybe road trip to South Padre or Athens on weekends.

Hi! I’m staying in Spring Branch for the month of May and looking for dive buddies to dive Canyon Lake this weekend. I dove it last month with a group from Corpus and the vis was great.

I’m not far (in Austin). Would love to go diving this weekend. Haven’t dove Canyon Lake before. What is water temp this time of year?

It was 65 to 68 with thermocline around 50ft 2 weeks ago. fishingnotes.com/fishing-report/tx/Canyon-Lake says water temp is 77 degrees but that is probably right at the surface. I dove it with a 3 mil suit no hood and was ok (but I’m pretty cold tolerant).

I’ll probably bring my family too. My 8 year old loves snorkeling. Wife doesn’t dive but she can be bubble watcher :-)

There were a lot of fish to see last time I was there. Catfish, black bass, etc

That sounds like good water temp. Extra landside bubble watchers are always appreciated:) Were you thinking Saturday or Sunday? Looks like Sunday is better weather

Sounds good to me. My daughter (21) may join as well if she if off work that day. She doesn’t scuba either, but loves the outdoors. How many tanks/dives you thinking?

I only have 2 tanks and I’m kinda an air hog LOL. Maybe I’ll rent a third...

Ok. I only have one so I will pick up a couple more for the day. Am used to diving at Windy Point and they have a refill station. Look forward to meeting you and getting to dive a new site Sunday.
