I usually go diving where my consulting work takes me, such as Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, the Philippines, and Taiwan, Turkey and Thailand. I’ve also been to Hawai’i (Oahu), Hawaii, and Mexico (Cancun, Cozumel, Cenotes; Cabo San Lucas; San Carlos, Isla San Pedro Nolasco).

It would also be nice if I could edit the log laterto correct/add information.

You can edit the log. Just go to the dive log you want to edit, then click Edit this Dive Log from the Member Control Panel in the top right.

Thanks for the tip. But I don’t see the "Edit this Dive Log" button, though. The only two buttons available are "Log a Dive" and "My Dive Log."

You need to first click on the dive log you want to edit. Then it brings you to the details of that log. On that page you will see Edit this Dive Log.

Thanks, Greg. It’s a nice feature, though I wish it were easier to enter dive sites.

Yeah, the dive sites have to be entered before dives can be logged there. Can you suggest how I can make it easier to add dive sites?

For one thing, it would make it a lot easier if I could search for the dive site and, if there is no applicable site, create a new site. The current configuration works in the opposite direction. It’s kind of frustrating to have to enter all the information about a dive site only to find out that there is a site in the database (often with a slightly different name).

That is how it works now. When you click Select New Dive Site from the Add Dive Log page, it takes you to the dive site search page which allows you to search for an existing site or if it doesnt exist, add a new one.

It works when the site name I provide matches the ones other people use. For some of them, I didn’t see the correct one until I had entered all the information.
